Gardening is something that I came to a little later in my life. Following the birth of my daughter, I decided I wanted to do something that I was passionate about and consequently signed up to study a BTEC National Diploma in Horticulture at Brooksby College.
It was clear that I had found my calling and quickly set up my own business to start gaining the experience I needed to be successful. Since then I have worked for a number of different companies running teams of Gardeners, but the biggest learning curve of my career was definitely my time at Uppingham School. The fantastic team there took me from a domestic grade gardener, to a commercial grade one. We not only looked after the grounds of the school and boarding houses to exceptional, show stopping levels, but assisted with the planting and design for the Uppingham in Bloom campaign, which we won Gold and was placed 3rd in the whole of the United Kingdom.
Since February 2019 I decided to once again run my own business and provide a unique service to clients. My goal is to transform people's gardens into places they love to be. Through further planting or making structural changes, to using the correct maintenance techniques, the business has enabled many people to get back out into nature and enjoy being outside.
